How Your Body Chemistry Strongly Correlates with Your Perfume Choice

It may appear to be easy but acquiring a perfume that benefits you is not a walk in the park. It is a meticulous exercise that calls for a deep understanding of various natural aspects of your body.

Different bodies have a varied body chemistry that makes it easy
for them to identify the right perfume. A perfume with a good scent on another person or paper may not maintain the fragrance with you and vice versa. Why? Because each person has a personal and unique way of how their bodies function in other word we can call it body hygiene.

How does the body chemistry determine your perfume?
As we dive deeper into the body chemistry and perfume requirement, these are some of the things that you should know before choosing a perfume.

  •  Type Your Skin:

It is the most critical factor that will give you the perfume that benefits you. Before you touch any bottle of perfume, ensure that you know whether your skin is oily or dry. There are some glands on our skin, called sebaceous glands, that determine oily and dry skin.

The glands produce sebum that gets to the surface of the skin through the hair
follicle. The presence of sebum on the skin makes the skin oily, while its absence or reduced amount makes it dry.

Besides, sebum smells differently on the skin depending on your lifestyle, diet, stress level, and overall health. Notably, this sebum smells unique to an
individual, which calls for a perfect perfume match.

People with oily skin will choose a less scented (softer) perfume because the perfume will remain on their skin for long. Those with dry skin will take a more scented (strong) cologne because the fragrance of a lighter one may sublime when you sweat.

  • The pH Balances:

It sounds big! Let this not scare you. The pH of your skin is another mandatory effect that you should keep in mind when choosing a perfume. pH stands for the potential of hydrogen and explains whether a medium is alkaline or acidic. The pH scale runs from 1 to 14, whereby 1 indicates strong acid while 14 is a strong base.

The normal skin should be at 5.5. Those with skins above 5.5 will suffer from eczema, and their skin will sag and have wrinkles. Those with skins below 5.5 will have acne, inflammations, and breakouts. If you choose the perfume correctly, it will help you balance your skin pH level.

  • Body Heat (basal body temperature):

You can know this by touching the skin: it will be either warm or cold. Those with
warmer skins will have perfumes concentrating on them, and the reverse is true. Ironically we are making an exception with this if one is ill or have some type of fever which sometimes can irregularly fluctuates body temperature.

  • Personal Choice:

You are also at liberty to keep testing the perfumes until you get the right one: we call it trial and error. Take the cologne and spray it on your skin for about then minutes. If the scent pleases you, go with it.

Either way, you can also read the ingredients and notes to know more about their chemical composition. With all these facts, you are good to go and buy yourself a perfume of your choice.
